Ayers Automotive has been fixing cars in the same part of Kailua-Kona since 1998. Twenty-eight years in, most of what keeps people coming back has less to do with parts than with two people: Jim and Joe.
Customers do not write about a service department here, they write about Jim and Joe by name. The shop is independent, not a franchise, and every technician is ASE-certified. Training runs through the NAPA AutoCare network, and Ayers is a Hawaii State Vehicle Safety Inspection center that also provides certified emissions repairs, so an inspection and whatever it turns up can get handled in the same building instead of being sent somewhere else. Ayers is a Hawaii State Licensed Repair Dealer, and estimates are free.
We will explain our repairs to you so you understand what we are fixing on your car. That is not a slogan borrowed for the website, it is on the shop's own service pages, and it shows up in how a job actually runs: somebody looks before anybody quotes. It works the same way across the full range of services, from routine maintenance to diagnostic work on a check engine light nobody can explain yet.

One customer's repair order
She brought in a competitor's quote. Ayers found ninety percent of it wasn't needed.
